Game Name Rules and Rename Guide

A good gaming name should be easy to recognize and accepted by the game where you use it. Start with a name you like, compare a few styles, and check the right account field before confirming a rename.

Guidance checked on 20 September 2026. Our generator creates text; the destination game decides which names and characters it accepts.

Free Fire: test the decoration first

Garena warns that some special characters may not display on every device. Start with clear lettering, then try a small decoration. If the preview looks broken, remove the symbols and keep the readable version. Garena’s nickname guide describes changing a name with diamonds or a name-change card. Read Garena’s nickname guidance.

PUBG Mobile: prepare before using a Rename Card

PUBG Mobile’s help center says a Rename Card changes your nickname and limits changes to once per day. Compare your favorite spelling with a simpler backup before confirming. Keep the main name readable if you add a team tag, and use the game’s input field to check what is accepted. Read the official rename instructions.

Roblox: display name or username?

A Roblox display name can be shared by several players. Changing it is free, but you can normally change it only once every seven days. Your unique username is a separate account identifier, and changing that requires Robux. Choose the field that matches what you want to change. Roblox filters names, and its current Japanese-character beta is not available to every account. Display-name guidance · Username guidance.

Fortnite: use the correct platform name

Epic display names must be 3–16 characters and follow Epic’s naming rules. You can change an Epic display name once every two weeks. That change does not rename a PlayStation Network online ID or Xbox gamertag, so check which account name you need to update. Keep a plain-text option ready if a decorated version is rejected. VALORANT: build a complete Riot ID

A Riot ID has a Game Name and a tagline. Riot specifies 3–16 alphanumeric characters for the Game Name and 3–5 for the tagline. The Game Name can repeat, but the complete combination must be available. Normal free changes have a 90-day waiting period, and changing the ID affects how you appear across Riot games. Start with letters and numbers; do not assume emoji or decorative frames will be accepted. Read Riot’s current ID rules.

Call of Duty: Mobile: check the rename timing

Activision’s guide uses a Name Changing Card, also called a Rename Card, and allows a name change once every three days. Open your player profile, use the edit control beside your name, and review the result before confirming. If a card purchase is needed, check the price shown in your game. Read the official name-change guide.

A quick check for any game

  1. Pick a base name that teammates can read and say.
  2. Keep a plain-text copy alongside your decorated favorite.
  3. Paste into the actual game field and inspect the entire name.
  4. Check the game’s character, availability and moderation messages.
  5. Review any cost or waiting period before you confirm.

A name that looks correct here can still be unavailable, rejected or displayed differently inside another app. A visible symbol may contain more than one Unicode code point, so the game’s own validation is the final check.
